_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_3_font_size=&#8221;32px&#8221; header_3_line_height=&#8221;1.1em&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]GAATW Canada is a member organization of <a href=\"https:\/\/gaatw.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GAATW<\/a>, an alliance of over 105 non-governmental organizations worldwide. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alliance members include women\u2019s rights, human rights, migrant rights, and anti-trafficking organizations, as well as self-organized groups of migrant workers, domestic workers, sex workers, and survivors of human trafficking. GAATW\u2019s International Secretariat is located in Bangkok, Thailand.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1997, GAATW Canada hosted the North American Regional Consultative Forum on Trafficking in Women\u2014the first consultation of its kind held in Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the years, GAATW Canada has engaged in policy advocacy and conducted several research projects to inform Canada\u2019s response to human trafficking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GAATW Canada was incorporated as a federal non-profit organization in 2022 and registered as a charity in 2025. While individual services are critical, this disproportionate\u00a0emphasis can overshadow systemic solutions and result in short-term responses that fall short of meeting the longer-term needs of people at risk of or experiencing trafficking in Canada.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We acknowledge the limitations and harms of Canada\u2019s law and order trafficking framework and aim to shift to approaches that respect individual choice and labour rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GAATW Canada commits to action and advocacy to make concrete political and social change in the anti-trafficking landscape across Canada.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We strive to be inclusive and non-discriminatory\u00a0 in all our work.
