The Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW) Canada is inviting applications for a Communications Specialist. In an era of rapid misinformation, we seek a dedicated individual to help ensure that the public receives accurate and trustworthy information on human trafficking.
About the Position
Location: Remote (anywhere in Canada)
Term: February 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026

About Us
From a labour rights approach, GAATW Canada addresses human trafficking through research, policy, advocacy, education, and reciprocal collaboration. We amplify community and scholarly expertise to combat human trafficking by using evidence-based approaches that effectively support trafficked individuals while mitigating the harms associated with the rescue industry. We acknowledge the limitations and harms of Canada’s law and order trafficking framework and aim to shift protectionist and criminalization approaches to approaches that respect individual agency and labour rights.
GAATW Canada celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage you to apply for the position if you have most but not all the qualifications. Research shows that gender-diverse people, women, racialized and visible minorities, and persons with disabilities are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. GAATW Canada is committed to fostering equitable, diverse, inclusive, accessible employment practices and a welcoming workplace.
